Hall SHOCKER of the year!

For those of you that know Craig, you know that he is pretty layed back, easy going, and likable. Craig likes all kinds of music, including punk (he is trying to talk me into going to Vans Warp tour). He likes to dress casual, in baggy jeans, skate shoes, and a T shirt usually, and often has a little gruff on his face.
Funny story really. Sunday morning neither of us had any meetings (unusual for us), so we were just being lazy, hanging out in our pj's (mormon code for G's). At about 10:00 our stake presidents office called so see if we could meet with President Corey. I said sure and asked what time, they said he was on his way over to our house. Oh...wow. We all got dressed really fast, and soon heard a knock at the door. Just have to say, I love President Corey, he is an amazing man! Anyway, after some chit chat he says "well, you probably know I came hear for a reason. It's time for a change in your bishopric!" Yes you hear right....BISHOPRIC! HAHAHAHAHHAHAHA. Craig is the new first counselor in our bishopric. LOL! Now to finish my previously mentioned description of my husband. He may come across as a guy that is layed back, and really doesn't care about much, but inside he is the most sensitive, loving, honest, hard working, humble man I know. He is a spiritual giant among men, and he has a deep impact on those around him. He always has profound insight on different situations. I am so lucky to have him as my husband, and the Father of my children.
After the Stake President left, we went to the church to meet with the Bishop (knowing what he wanted to talk about...kind of). We had a great meeting with him, and he had some amazing things to say about Craig. Half an hour later church started, and they sustained Craig in sacrament. Craig's Dad got to ordain him as a high priest, and that night Craig had his first disciplinary counsel, so he had a dive right in to the job. That was our Sunday in a nut shell.
The moral of the story is...don't miss your ward for 5 weeks in a row, or you might be next!

p.s. he did miss our ward for good reasons, just for the record. :)

More Carter

I know I just did a "funny things Carter says" post a few days ago, but the kid is so darn hilarious, and random. He says things CONSTANTLY that are just hysterical, but I only remember a few of them. The first one sounds like an off colored comic strip, but I swear this is how our conversation went down word for word.
carter "Mom what does that say"
Me "I don't know it's in Spanish"
c "oh...so only fat guys can speak Spanish?"
me, surprised, and trying not to laugh "no, lots of people speak Spanish. Like all the people that live in Mexico"
Carter in a thoughtful tone "I guess all the people in Mexico moved here!"

He has this thing as of late about me having another baby. He brings it up all the time.
c "sometimes I think about good things"
m "really , like what?"
c"like you having a baby. that makes me happy!"
me thinking in my head "now you have to convince Dad that's a happy thought"

speaking of Dad, also known as Craig, or my hot lover man. He got a little promotion at Robert Allen Auto Group, but he wouldn't tell you that. He is still selling cars, but now he is also doing finance. He has a Fancy new office in back. They sent him to Texas all week to attend a training course, and he just got home tonight. We are soooo glad to have him back. we love him, and missed him a bunch. And now I don't have to be in charge of watering the lawn anymore :)

7 days...for real?

Do you ever look back at a day, a week, a year, and think "for real? That was only a day?"? I had one of those weeks.
Monday: stressful/crazy
Tuesday: nervous/excited
Wednesday: amazing/life changing
Thursday: enriched/relaxed
Friday: overwhelmed/tired
Saturday: terrified/exhausted
Sunday: unprepared/relieved

As you can probably guess, every single one of those days has a story, but I'm too tired to write it all right now. However, I promise I will touch on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday in the near future. Stay tuned.

Carter

At swimming last week, Carter decided to do a cannon ball. He jumped as high as his little legs could launch him, and yelled "CANNOOONN" splash....up his head pops,"Ball"

Talking about his cousins, Angies girls, he always refers to them as "the princess'". Carter says to me "Mom, one of the princess' told me she was going to throw a rock at my face....that's crazy a pricess would say that huh."

Watching Kong foo Panda- "Oh please give him the Karate kick, do it do it do it...Yeaaaa, you did it."

Talking to Craig- "dad, when are we going to get more brothers and sisters?"
Craig- "I don't know buddy. Do you know where brothers and sisters come from?"
Craig- "Of course, they come from Jesus"

Fun Weekend!

all the young kids smashed on my bed to watch a movie.
We had a talent show one night, and Carter did a puppet show for it. He did a great job, it was way funny.

I took the kids up to Island Park for the weekend with some of my family. We stayed at my families cabin, and it was so much fun. True, it was raining 85% of the time, and SNOWING the other 15%, but we know how to make our own fun. Oh yes, I did say snowing. It is June, what the heck. Anyway. We played the moose is loose, cards, talked, watched movies, chatted, rode the four wheeler, watched Layla do tricks on the scary spiral stairs, and talked a little more. Did I mention my sisters were all there, and only one spouse. My brother in law Jeff is so awesome, just let me tell you. He took the kids on an adventure walk, played games with them, started movies, and whatever else so all the sisters could catch up. Thank you Jeff, you rock. Here are a few pics from the weekend.
....and, there is more. We are going back to the cabin this coming week to be with Craigs family, so I'm sure we will have some adventures to share.

cinnamon rolls

I didn't have any meetings this Sunday, so I decided to make cinnamon rolls with the kids. They were so funny, and totally loved the whole process. Layla made sure there was enough flour on the counter....and the floor, cupboards, drawer, her face, and of course in her hair. Gotta love it.
These are just some pretty hand casts I made this week.
