Home made "baby legs"

Have you ever heard of BabyLegs? It's a company that makes ADORABLE leg warmers for babies and little girls. My little Layla can often be seen sporting them:) We also love their pattern footless tights that cover her undies when she is wearing a skirt, and forgets to act like a lady;)

I was at the Dollar store the other day and saw this pair of socks. I immediately thought "oh my gosh, those would make the cutest leg warmers EVER!", so I bought them of coarse.

This was the EASYest sewing project EVER!

I broke it down to 5 simple steps...and only 2 of them involve any sewing;)

EASY PEASY LEMON SQUEEZY...let us begin.

Step 1: cut off the feet right above the heel

Step 2: Turn the socks inside out

 Step 3: measure the elastic around your little ones ankle, and cut the elastic 1/2 an inch                                     longer.  Sew the two ends together to make a circle.

                                     

Step 4: fold the cut end of the sock down over the elastic circle, and sew it in place.

 Step 5: Strut your stuff:)

Brains

It seems Layla has a new obsession as of late, and I have absolutly no idea where it came from. Brains. She has been heard saying things like, "let's squish that bugs brains out" or when I told her she is smart "that's because I have an extra large brain". When she got to the pit in her peach she yelled with excitment "yay, I found it's brain...but I am NOT going to eat it!". The other day we went on a little family hike on Craigs day off, and there were some tree roots visible on the trail, so she would say "there's a brain, and there's a brain, hahaha, and look guys...it's another brian." as she stomped on them with her happy little feet. I LOVE the stages children go through as they learn and grow, and the funny things they say and do. Layla is a constant stream of hilliarium (I may have just made that word up), always keeping things exciting at our home.

It's a Birthday

Layla had a birthday, and now my baby girl is 4! For her birthday she wanted Kaiden and Kylie to go swimming with us, have a pizza party, and sleep over...and so it was. She got this pretty dress for Annabeths wedding before Annabeth really had colors, so the dress didn't end up matching the wedding colors, so the dress became her "birthday dress". This birthday was kind of stretched out over a week because of busy schedules, so we have lots of fun pictures.


This is my favorite! This picture is her response to "who is going to have a birthday this week?"




















As you can see in those pictures...Layla is a ball of personality. She is so much fun to be around, and watch as she learns and grows. She is a princess (she wore that crown for a solid week), but she is a tom boy at the same time. The perfect combination of bugs and ballet.

Things I LOVE about Layla:
The way her little bum shakes from side to side when she runs.
the way she says a W when there is a L. "wipstick"
Her bold, sweet, energetic, tell it like it is personality.
I love (and hate) the way she sits down, shakes her bottom, and gets that certain look on her face when she needs to go potty.
I LOVE her skip/run.
I love it when she tries to comfort her brothers....older and younger.
Her imagination.
I love her beautiful eyes.
The list goes on and on and on, but in the end...I just love LAYLA.
