from the mouth of babes

Just a couple of funny things I've heard Carter say while he has been playing with his toys. His imagination has really taken off lately, and it's so fun to listen to him. yesterday he was in his room playing and I overheard him say to his trains "Come on guys, I'm not playing games now, okay". That one come directly from his Father. Today we were having quiet time, and he snuck out of his room and hid behind my chair that I was sitting in. I told him quiet time was not over, so he need to go back to his room for a little while. When he went back I heard this:
Carter "Mommy said quiet time not over"
Toy (in high pitched voice) "oh, okay"
Carter "So I have to stay in mine room"
Toy "okay. Are you dinky (stinky)?"
Carter "Yeah, I'm dinky"
I was getting a kick out of the conversation he was having, until I remembered he didn't have a diaper on. Opps.

I'm liberated

Well we didn't end up going to the temple today, but we are planning to go tomorrow, keep your fingers crossed. Good news though, Craig finished tiling the floor in our bathroom. Hooraaay. I'm so excited that I don't have to make the trek upstairs for my nightly midnight potty run. It looks really nice, he is one talented fellow. After we get the toilet and sink placed I will have to post a picture for you all to see, because I'm sure you are just dying to see our new toilet, right. For those of you who know me well I'm sure this will come as no surprise, but I decided today to cut my hair, and cut my hair I did. 15 inches to be exact. We braided it, and chopped it off, and mailed it to locks of love. I don't know what it is exactly, but something about cutting off that much hair is so liberating and exiting. I love it. I will have to post a picture of my new doo, and you can let me know what ya think. I will return and report after our journey to the temple tomorrow. Good day. Susan

Prayers

we have been saying night time prayers with Carter for a while now, but just recently he started adding his own thoughts to what we tell him to say. It is so funny. He will say "thankful for the Prophet, and Brocky, and Jaxey, and Kaiden", or sometimes he blesses his toys, cat food, or whatever. He is so fun to watch as he grows up.
Layla has started really getting around. She crawls very well now, and has a fascination with the toilets, and our plants. Any time I'm not paying attention to her she will go play with one of those things. She is a little smarty. I am so excited, because this weekend I discovered that her hair is finally long enough to do a pony tail on top. So cute.
Tomorrow we are planning on going through the Rexburg temple, so I'll let you know how that went next time.
