Do you ever look back at a day, a week, a year, and think "for real? That was only a day?"? I had one of those weeks.
Monday: stressful/crazy
Tuesday: nervous/excited
Wednesday: amazing/life changing
Thursday: enriched/relaxed
Friday: overwhelmed/tired
Saturday: terrified/exhausted
Sunday: unprepared/relieved
As you can probably guess, every single one of those days has a story, but I'm too tired to write it all right now. However, I promise I will touch on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday in the near future. Stay tuned.

Carter
At swimming last week, Carter decided to do a cannon ball. He jumped as high as his little legs could launch him, and yelled "CANNOOONN" splash....up his head pops,"Ball"
Talking about his cousins, Angies girls, he always refers to them as "the princess'". Carter says to me "Mom, one of the princess' told me she was going to throw a rock at my face....that's crazy a pricess would say that huh."
Watching Kong foo Panda- "Oh please give him the Karate kick, do it do it do it...Yeaaaa, you did it."
Talking to Craig- "dad, when are we going to get more brothers and sisters?"
Craig- "I don't know buddy. Do you know where brothers and sisters come from?"
Craig- "Of course, they come from Jesus"

Fun Weekend!
I took the kids up to Island Park for the weekend with some of my family. We stayed at my families cabin, and it was so much fun. True, it was raining 85% of the time, and SNOWING the other 15%, but we know how to make our own fun. Oh yes, I did say snowing. It is June, what the heck. Anyway. We played the moose is loose, cards, talked, watched movies, chatted, rode the four wheeler, watched Layla do tricks on the scary spiral stairs, and talked a little more. Did I mention my sisters were all there, and only one spouse. My brother in law Jeff is so awesome, just let me tell you. He took the kids on an adventure walk, played games with them, started movies, and whatever else so all the sisters could catch up. Thank you Jeff, you rock. Here are a few pics from the weekend.
....and, there is more. We are going back to the cabin this coming week to be with Craigs family, so I'm sure we will have some adventures to share.
cinnamon rolls
I didn't have any meetings this Sunday, so I decided to make cinnamon rolls with the kids. They were so funny, and totally loved the whole process. Layla made sure there was enough flour on the counter....and the floor, cupboards, drawer, her face, and of course in her hair. Gotta love it.
These are just some pretty hand casts I made this week.

memorial day weekend
Craig actually had two days off in a row, so we felt like we HAD to go somewhere...anywhere. We went down to Salt Lake. I know, it doesn't sound excited at all, but we had so much fun. My sister Annabeth came with us, and she is "the favorite Aunt" (and Kim), so the kids would have had a blast just for the fact that she was with us.
One day we went to an aquarium, and it was really cool. After that we went and played a little mini golf, and Carter was actually pretty dang good at it. That night we went to this restaurant called the Mayan or something, and that was very entertaining. They had these divers that dove off about 50ft cliffs, it freaked me out, but it was good. That night we watched the funnest movie called "confessions of a shopaholic". I laughed so dang hard, and would for sure recommend it to a friend.
The next day we went to Holgo Zoo, and what fun we had. The best part was being together as a family. With our full schedules we don't get to do that very often, so it is always a treat. I have the best husband in the world, super funny kids, and a rockin sister.

Black eye cutie pie
Layla had a fight with her dresser in the process of falling out of bed...and the dresser won. It was actually one of those moments when you feel like "Man, I am an awful Mom!", and wonder if you should really be spawning. She had been sleeping really bad the past few nights, so I would run to her when I heard her cry, and she would go right back to sleep. This night I decided I was going to let her get herself back to sleep. She started crying at 3:30, and I told myself "Susan, let her cry, she is ok. She will go right back to bed. Just leave her". I was wrong. She cried for about 20 minutes. I finally went out to her, and there she was standing with blood running down her cheek. HOLY CRAP. That was the freakiest thing ever. It really just scrapped the top layer of skin off, but it looked really bad at first. To make it worse, it was the beginning of Mothers Day. Happy Mothers day to me. haha.
Craig took a picture of me and the kids that make me a Mama. I love these little people more then I could ever explain. Happy (late) Mothers day to all you Mamas.

Layla turns 2
In case you don't know by now, Layla believes with all her heart that she is a princess! To confirm this, Craig's Mom gave her a super cute pink princess skirt for her B-day....and she has barely taken it off ever since. She has worn it to the grocery store, the park, the gym, a primary activity, to play with her friends, and of course, to her birthday partaaay. Here are a few pictures of my Princess.
Layla, you are the sunshine in my soul. Without fail, you make me smile and laugh every time I feel like crying. I admire the way you can fall off a playground and not cry, yet have a broken heart when someone else gets hurt. You are so loving to everyone else, and such a nice sister to Carter. I'm so grateful I get to be your Mother, can hardly wait for the adventures I know are waiting for us. I LOVE you Layla.
